In all the worst ways, of course. Yesterday night I was walking back from work, fiddling with my ancient MP3 player, and noticed that there was a blue, glowing radius around the screen... and that it wasn't my glasses' fault, as it usually is. No, there was actually an eldritch glow due to the amount of water in the air, the light reflecting off the droplets in about a three-cm radius from the screen. It's a cold that will get into your bones.
I've been getting by alright with my regular shoes, a canvas vest, and scarves, but I'm quickly realizing that I need a fall jacket. I brought my serious winter jacket with me, but I feel it's not cold enough to break it out yet - luckily, there are tons of cute fall jackets on sale right now. I just need to gird my loins and get down to the supremely annoying business of shopping in stores where people are either shouting or insipidly twittering "Irrashaimasse!" at me.
In other news, I ordered a humidifier online - my room dries RIGHT out when I turn on the heater, and it's not fun to wake up with a dry mouth and itchy throat because of it. My heater should be shipping in a couple of days - I hope I'm here to pick it up, otherwise I might have to field another all-Japanese telephone call to arrange a pickup time. I've already done it twice (!!) but it's quite exhausting! Exciting, though, I have to admit.
